Ms Ya Honey

About

Wyattah aka Ms Ya Honey is a music producer/engineer/songwriter. Around age 5, Wyattah began experimenting with sounds, rhythms and various musical instruments. She always found a way to incorporate music into her play time as a child by strumming on an old acoustic guitar with a missing string and creating melodies on an old dusty organ she found in the basement of the home she grew up in outside of Chicago. Recognizing her inclinations, Wyattah's mother would have her take piano lessons beginning at the age of 10. During that time she also received more musical training by participating in her school's district choir and band. As a teenager, Wyattah found herself captivated by the Chicago-based genre of music: House Music. She also developed an eclectic and timeless taste in some popular music from the past and the current era created and performed by artists and bands like Jimi Hendrix, Earth Wind & Fire, David Bowie, Too Short, George Clinton, Prince, The Carpenters Missy Elliott, The Police - just to name a few. At the age of 19, Wyattah enrolled in Columbia College of Chicago in order to obtain a sound engineering certificate. However, after she started that program, she decided that she wanted to learn more about the music industry. So, she also began to study and received a B.A. in Music Management. In 2013, she acquired the equipment for a home studio where she created the true Ms Ya Honey persona as a music producer while making original tracks that are gaining momentum in popularity within the EDM and House Music communities.
