Tracy Island are a four piece Alternative Rock band from the North East of England. Formed in 1990 around the songwriting talents of founder members Ben Haslam (vocals & rhythm guitar) and Paul Ridley (lead guitar, vocals ) backed by drummer Ian Piercy and bass player Marty B Bloomfield. In 1991, with new beat boy Graeme Wall in tow , they went forward, building a strong fan base in the UK , completed two European tours, and were touted by several big record companies. After a short stint with replacement bassist John Parker they disbanded in 1994.
The original line up kept in touch and reformed for a series of explosive comeback gigs in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2014. In 2021 Paul contacted Ben during Covid 19 lockdown to reform the songwriting duo. The aim was to bond, re-record and re-produce some of their classic tracks, therein realising the power, orchestration and melodrama they always sought and dreamed of in their songwriting .
