  • About

Tory World is a recording artist from Madison, Wisconsin, USA. He has also performed under the name, the Virgo Vertigo. He is also a studio engineer and has worked at studios in New Orleans, Seattle, and his native Madison, Wisconsin. He has played in bands such as Polymorphous Perverse and the Virgo Vertigo. He is also currently the drummer of metal-band, Longtooth as well. A new Tory World album called, “A Precarious Midlife Crisis” is scheduled to be released in September 2023. Tory's music is heavily influenced by early-Alternative and 80's pop music. Although he started playing right as grunge first broke in 1991, he is more influenced, as an artist, by the music of his younger childhood. When listening to his music, you will hear hints of artists like New Order, Tears for Fears, Thompson Twins, and Level 42. He is also heavily influenced by "grown folks’ music", which is what he essentially calls artists from the electro-funk movement of the late 70's/early 80's such as Rick James, Yarbrough and Peoples, One Way, and Slave. Also making a noticeable impact on his music are Prince, Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), and Vernon Reid (Living Colour). Tory World is actively booking shows. His show is an amazing audio and visual experience the draws the audience in and gets people dancing. Even people that are new to the music react extremely positively to the live performance and video art. In the near future, he will be performing as a one-man show with video and backing tracks. But the intent is to have a full 5-piece backing band. Tory's full live show requires seasoned players and a few technical support members. But in order to begin growing an audience cost efficiently and to get back out and performing, he has created an innovative live show!
