Thomas James is a songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist. In the early 1980s, his band, the Kelly James Band, helped jump-start the Marshall Tucker Band's new Creative Arts label, with producers Doug Gray, George McCorkle and Jerry Eubanks. The band began performing for large, enthusiastic crowds, opening shows for the Marshall Tucker Band, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Dr. Hook, Artimus Pyle Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, among others. James writes in various genres for artist pitches and sync opportunities, and is a member of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).
