Snow Black is ambient guitarist Stefan Nowak, from London UK, currently living in an olive grove in the mountains east of Pisa in Italy. Originally influenced by the work of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno in the 70s, and more recently by ambient guitarists such as Cousin Silas, Chords of Orion, Arli, Lowercase Noises and Mikhail Medvedev, amongst others. His tracks are mostly improvised and recorded live using Roland/Boss guitar synthesisers and, most recently, just an iPad or MacBook with a variety of apps and plug-ins to create his soundscapes. He is also partial to the Fernandes Sustainer and eBow to create long sustained textures.
