Ryan Faris is a Chicago-raised, Texas-based musician, audio tech, engineer, and producer. He studied Music Composition at Columbia College Chicago, and after graduating he began working at world-renowned record store Dusty Groove, finding inspiration in the store’s extensive collection of world, soul, and jazz records. In addition to writing, recording, and mixing, Ryan spends his free time building and repairing audio gear. In 2016 he co-founded psychedelic pop band Bliss Motel. They released their self-titled album in 2019. His credits also include writing and mixing for “Cosmic Range Oven”, the first album by Austin-based honky tonk quartet Shinglers, and in early 2022 he joined the band as their bassist. In his latest single “So Glad”, released February 2023, Ryan establishes his musical direction with influences from the sounds of 60s pop, Brazilian jazz, and Americana.
