About

I am an Englishmen living in France. I have a wife, two children and three grandchildren. No dogs, cats or assorted pets I am first and foremost a storyteller with a rambling soul and an addiction to rhyme. I write because words are my friends; they help make me who I am. I wrote my first song in 1962, a couple of years before I became a member of a trio called The Hillfolk. Our manager also managed the band that found international fame as Smokie - they did and we didn't! We cut our teeth in the working men's clubs of the north of England; an environment in which performance skills were hard taught and hard won. I had my first airtime with a song in the mid '70s. I don't perform as much as I did back in the day. I have never classed myself as a musician; simply a strummer of my 12-string guitar. I got and get by! I am a published author of children's fiction.
