    Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Richard is one of the founding members of one of Iceland's more popular 80's band, Rikshaw. RIKSHAW was THE 80's pop/rock band in Iceland during the New Romantic era. This mega popular band was formed in the winter of 1983, and enjoyed major success in their home country with songs like; "Into the Burning Moon", "Great Wall of China", "Sentimental Eyes" and "Celestial Garden" until they disbanded in 1990, when Richard embarked on a successful solo career writing such hits as "Hate to see you Cry" and "Fallen Angels". Richard holds a degree in Sociology/Urban Development from the University of San Francisco and a First Class Honours MA degree in Screenwriting from the National Film School of Ireland, winning the prestigious "Thesis Award for Academic Excellence in Writing" from the Writers Guild of Ireland. Scobie began his filmmaking career writing music for such films as; Ben Stiller’s “The Suburbans,” Rodney Dangerfield’s “The Godson,” as well as for Richard Dreyfuss’ TV show, “The Education of Max Bickford”. Currently, Richard is writing new music for a feature (rock 'n' roll) film called: "The Boneyard Boys".
