Night Herons is a rock band out of Oakland, CA. Their third album, Heavy Swell, came out November 1, 2019 and received moderate college radio airplay and good reviews in such magazines as The Big Takeover. Their 2nd album, Relevant Noise has received excellent reviews in such outlets as The Huffington Post, Tattoo.com and Indie Source. The band formed in 2013 and released their debut album, Shipyard Riot, in 2014. HuffPost describes their music: "Night Herons’ sound reflects alt rock, indie rock and hard rock elements merging into a raw, edgy sound driven by powerful guitars establishing contagious melodies..." Night Herons leader Dana Berry also has a side project called Bitterwind which focuses on his more rootsy rock side.
