I’ve been playing music since I was 12, starting out on guitar, influenced by my Mother who taught me a Woody Guthrie song, “Going Down That Road Feeling Sad”. I sang in church and in High School choirs playing in groups and bands around the Kansas City area for years. I picked up the bass guitar soon after graduating from Juco joined the Music Union in KC and placed my name on the jobs board. Not long after that I got a call from a manager Jimmy Hakes who was putting together a touring band to support a record by Marsh Valley who was a protege of Chuck Howard Sr a songwriter from Nashville who wrote a few songs for Marsha as well as other well know artist in Nashville. After touring with Marsha and other groups for a few years I moved to Colorado. I played in a few different bands in Colorado and began to realize how much non radio music was used in film. Prior to playing music professionally I studied film at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and the University of Colorado and started to look at the possibility of composing for film as well as other media content. That possibility led me here to Songtradr. Hope you enjoy older compositions as well as new ones uploaded here.
