Kim Yarson has been working on the craft of songwriting for 23 years and honing her guitar skills and vocals along the way. If her songwriting doesn’t draw you right in, her fun personality and energetic style will have you hooked upon the first song. Kim doesn’t like to define herself as anything other than a singer/songwriter writing from her heart, but she has been compared to the wildly talented Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge and once told by a fan after seeing her perform, “if Adam Sandler and Alanis Morrisette had a child, it would be you!” Furthermore, Kim has had several cuts on Independent albums, penned a song for the movie “Acceptance” which has been accepted into many film festivals in the NJ/NY city area and has placements in TV shows, Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, Lost and Found with Mike and Jess, Southern Charm, Black Ink Crew, Return to Amish and Human Resources. 2018 Kim has seen a recent placement of her song I Am Loved in the documentary "American Chaos" set to be released this September along with winning 2nd place in the Indie International Songwriting contest for her pop song Big Girl Pants. Kim released her fourth and best album, Rise in mid 2017, with an eclectic bunch of songs that that have already garnered her two film/TV placements. Past accomplishments were recording with Nashville’s best musicians and background vocalists in the industry to produce her third album Joy for its July 2014 release. Joy has received attention and has had placements in TV shows and has also placed in songwriting contests. She continues to write daily with writers from around the world, for film/TV and pitching to artists. When she is not writing songs or performing, she is busy holding down 2 part-time day jobs and raising her growing boys all while writing pitching and promoting her music. She is enrolled at Berklee College of Music Online just to learn more!
