Jan Thomassen is a norwegian musician and composer, living on the beautiful Maraú-peninsula in Brazil since 2010.
Jan released his first EP with his band Jan Session in 2015. The project was formed with his friends Olavo Barbi and Alex Horta.
Brazilian rap legend, Edi Rock from Racionais MC’s, participated on the track Upperhand. Edi Rock also made a remix of this song, and included it on his album Origens in 2019.
Three years later the first album “The owners of the world” was released, mixed and mastered by 4 times Grammy-nominee and Grammy-winner Marcellinho Guerra.
Jan Thomassens music is a fusion of grunge, rock and blues, influenced by some of the Seattle based grunge bands in the nineties, such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.
In 2023 Jan Thomassen released 2 new singles, Spellbound and Sunday Night.
