Jacob René, born 1990 in the West Texas oil community of Odessa, absorbed the area’s eclectic sounds as a child, proving a four year old can Cumbia. After studying music at the collegiate level, his drive and talent found him relocating to the Live Music Capitol of Austin, Texas, to further his experience as a performance musician. While performing at bars, clubs and venues, he also volunteered for The Recording Academy Texas Chapter, and released his first EP “Watch Me” in 2018. Recently returning to his West Texas roots of Odessa, Jacob René has collaborated with Producer José “Pepe” Samaniego on his newest sounds. Because of his Mexican-American heritage, he wanted his next project to be a reflection of his deep admiration of Latin Music, in particular Tejano, which the artist claims is the “music of his childhood.” February 2020 debuted Jacob’s new single, “Quiero Curarte” on his favorite hometown radio station Que Buena 106.7.
