Dan Scholes - Songwriter/Producer

I began my journey playing drums and keyboards in acclaimed Liverpool bands Karmer from 1995 – 2001 and Garisson from 2002 - 2007. I enrolled on the BA (Hons)Performing Arts (Music) course at the Paul McCartney funded Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in 2000 and graduated in 2003. It was here that I studied studio production, engineering and song writing. From 2012 - 2014 I was part of a song writing production team called King & Scholes whose songs were played regularly on BBC and internet radio as well as being used as background music in television shows such as Holly Oaks. We also collaborated on an EP of songs with Sky sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague using Guillem's lyrics. This culminated in a gig to celebrate the launch of the EP at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. From 2014 - 2015 I was involved with various different projects including producing some songs for singer/songwriter David Neville King. From 2015 to early 2016 I was co-songwriter/performer and lead producer for a one off EP of songs by my former band Karmer entitled 'New Dawn Rising'. It garnered considerable praise being regularly played on local radio including BBC Introducing as well as having songs played at half time at Anfield Road, home of Liverpool FC. Some of the songs off the EP were accepted on to the books of prominent sync companies in USA for TV/Film/Media placement. The song ‘Invictus’ from the EP featured prominently on BT Sports during the Spring/Summer of 2016. Currently I am co-writing with various songwriters and producers both in the UK and USA/Canada with much of this material being actively pitched to various publishers/artist management and music/film/TV sync companies. In September the song ‘Make it On Our Own’ ,written by myself and Paul Coxhead, was signed to a 3 year exclusive publishing deal with Leopard Music Publishing and has since been sub published in the Latin American and US territories. I am always open to the idea of collaborating with other songwriters. I am a producer and songwriter of anything that inspires me and moves me.
