James began his musical journey in his hometown of London picking up the Trumpet at just 8 years old. Having studied classical music for most of his young life, it was not until James reached his teenage years that his interest in jazz took over and he began playing his first live gigs. James has been active on the British music scene now for over a decade as a performer, educator and producer, being a sought-after session player and educator. Having been awarded a bachelors degree in music from Sheffield University, James went on to gain a masters degree in music in 2010. Free-lancing in the UK whilst at university gave James a great stepping stone into the many different aspects that culminate in the modern musician.
