DJ Loot is one of the West Coast's most active independent music producers. In 1996, he began producing, engineering, and composing in the Rap, R&B, Rock, Pop, and Techno genres. His focus has been on producing some of the most talented rappers and singers in California, as well as engineering and producing beats for select clientele around the world. As of early 2018, his resume includes over 8,000 songs mixed/mastered, 1,500 exclusive beats sold, and his credits include Akon, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, Pusha T, Turf Talk, T.I., Paul Wall, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Future, Young Buck, Slim Thug, Devin The Dude, Yo Gotti, Lil' Keke, Drumma Boy (Drum Squad), Rocko, Short Dawg, Three 6 Mafia, San Quinn, Syren, Mistah FAB, Philthy Rich, Celly Cel, Boss Hogg, Hollow Tip, X-Raided, Thizz Entertainment/Thizz Latin artists, Triple Beam, Sub Zero, B.I.G. Malo, Dirk Dig, Tallboi Ent, Flossalini, Cali Bear Gang, Penny, Hennessy, Luni Coleone, The Gatlin, and G Will, plus rising stars Lyrical Vision, Seanessy, Reece Loc, Immunity, Majesty, Foothill Fam, Good Ol' Boyz, Alcatraz, Keyringz, Nina Loco, Truth, Grade A Int, JDK, and many more. DJ Loot grew up listening to a variety of genres. This variety led to an interest in playing several instruments at an early age, as well as a curiosity for how music was recorded. He would routinely take apart cassette players and other gear to discover how they worked. After high school, he began collecting various recording gear and recording his own hip-hop and rock music. As a student at CSU Chico in California, he found out about the Recording Arts program there, and switched major immediately. He graduated in 2004 with a BA in Music, with Recording Arts option. After graduating from college, DJ Loot started his own audio production business in Sacramento CA, and has been a factor in the West-Coast music scene ever since. His goals are to enjoy mainstream success through mix-work and beat/song placements, while remaining as accessible to emerging indie talent as possible.
