Christian Stahr is a Norwegian composer, orchestrator, and music director based in Cary, North Carolina, creating cinematic, emotionally driven music for film, television, theatre, and media. His work ranges from intimate solo piano to rich orchestral and theatrical scores, with a strong focus on melody, atmosphere, and storytelling. With over 20 years of professional experience, Christian brings both creative depth and technical precision to every project. His music blends classical craftsmanship with modern cinematic sensibilities, making it well suited for film, documentaries, drama, advertising, and narrative media.
Christian holds degrees from the University of Oslo, the Norwegian Academy of Music, and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he specialized in Musical Theatre Writing. His career began performing and arranging music with His Majesty the King’s Guard in Norway, including official events for the Norwegian Royal Family.
His composing and orchestration credits include the opening ceremony for Fredrikstad’s 450th Anniversary and stage productions in the Triangle area of North Carolina. He has also written several original musicals, including Let’s Be Frank, You Can’t Sing, and 4Real. His historical musical Olav den Heldige ("St. Olaf the Lucky One") was featured at the St. Olaf Festival in Norway.
