K-A-B is the solo project of Kelly Ann Buckley, a multi-disciplined artist whose output spans electro-acoustic music composition, sound art/design, and the written word. With a portfolio encompassing music and sound design commissions for film, advertisements, dance productions and art exhibitions, sound art installations and exhibitions, plus decades of published journalistic pieces for newspapers and magazines, Buckley's work reflects her versatility and ability to evoke emotive landscapes and storytelling through a combination of audio-visual processes.
From contemporary avant-pop to experimental soundscapes and cinematic cues, Buckley brings unique perspectives and a blend of genres to her compositions. Utilising her own field recordings, she infuses her music with a genuine connection to the environment, drawing much of her inspiration from nature and the ebb and flow of the seasons. Her interest in bioacoustics (particularly plant bioacoustics) and soundscape-ecology often informs her work, adding layers of depth and meaning to her sonic creations.
