Nathan Lathouse, aka Houzen, is a session drummer and songwriter from Atlanta, Ga. Driven by a desire to expand beyond hired-gun work, he reveals his love for playing piano and synths by breaking away with his debut release, Five Thousand Years.
Houzen's first debut album, Five Thousand Years, is a refreshing venture into orchestral electronica. It contains elements of ambient dream pop with a nod to minimal techno. The album sends listeners to a mood driven headspace with its eclectic mix of songs. The songs are mainly driven by drums and piano then glued together by a rich texture of synth pads, acoustic guitar, saxophone and occasional vocals.
