I believe radio will change. Fans of music can’t find what they’re looking for on ‘Classic Rock and Easy Listening’ radio stations. They want new music but program directors are afraid to wander away from that familiar format. They’re afraid of losing listeners as soon as a new unfamiliar song is played. Web radio is where the change is coming from, more and more of these forward thinking webcasters are featuring new artist with one hour weekly shows or better, of just new never before heard music from unknown artists and I believe terrestrial radio needs to follow suit. I’m an unknown artist. My influences range from Puff the Magic Dragon to Stairway to Heaven, Beatles to Hendrix not to mention Waylon and Wyllie to Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Julia and Buddy Miller and the list is exhaustingly long. I write. From deep sole searching numbers like ‘A cool blues man’s name’ to offbeat songs like ‘In the middle of my chest’ to blues rock like ‘I was not to blame’.
