This is the mission statement of Jay Bishop as he mixes nostalgic vibes with modern sensibilities through his Modern Funk music made for dance floors and midnight car rides alike. Based in Tokyo, this Detroit born artist/songwriter/producer/DJ utilizes modern technology and production techniques combined with strong songwriting to create music that takes the listener back in time to when they first discovered what "groove" was and what "the funk" meant.
