The Lasting is a South African, Cape Town based band, that plays folk acoustic rock with unique melodic tunes while giving special attention to sound quality and acoustics. The band was originally founded in 2009. The band regularly hits the local club scene in Cape Town and surrounding towns. The Lasting comprises, Bertus van der Westhuizen (Keys/Piano), Francois De Wet (Bass) and Gerhard van der Vyver (Lead Vocals/Guitar). The band is currently working towards recording their first album within the next year and continuous to produce new material which they play as new entries in competitions or while simply pleasing their growing number fans!
