Dan Mace (March 7, 1990) is a South African Film Director, Commercials Director, YouTuber, and founder of JOE Films - a film production company based in Cape Town, South Africa. He was born on March 7, 1990, in Pinelands, Western Cape, South Africa. Throughout his 10-year career behind the camera, he has directed over a hundred commercials, musicvideos, documentaries, and short films across four different continents. He first joined YouTube in 2011 and has since grown his audience to over 783,000 subscribers, with over 35 million collective views. He writes, produces, directs, and edits the majority of his own work and considers himself to be an all-around creative. As a Director, his talent lies in his authentic story-telling and many years in the industry, which have honed his technical knowledge both on, and off, set. However, he believes his greatest asset is his open mind and the ability to think differently in order to craft a meaningful narrative that moves people. He is an altruist with an earnest desire to change the world for the better and it is this desire that fuels and inspires his films. Dan has won many accolades over the years, including three Young Director Awards at Cannes Lions, an African Cristal Film Grand Prix, multiple Bronze Loerie Awards, Ciclope Africa Editing Craft awards, the Creative Circle ad-of-the-month, and more.
