Marilyn McNeal is an independent musician, composer and video maker who makes indie folk and experimental roots music. Marilyn's latest project, Chantmagick, is a way for her to combine movement, music and nature to ground herself and offer an anecdote to negativity.
Described as The Carter Family meets Kate Bush, Marilyn’s approach to music making is simple, raw and immediate. She uses what’s at hand and tries to record tracks in as few takes as possible - offering rich vocal ditties sung over acoustic guitar and keyboard riffs repeated throughout the song. Marilyn plays guitar, piano, fiddle, spoons and homemade instruments. She has been writing and recording for the past 20 years and is cultivating an online audience and fan base. See links below.
