  • About

Blindrunner writes about youthful excess that becomes lifelong issues. After decades of writing and playing music, the duo of John Call and Owen Beard have honed their message, taking out all the fluff that gets in the way of driving power pop. Though the music is filled with hooks and simple turns the lyrical themes are a serious and cogent, depiction of the growing up of 80’s punk rockers. Kids, jobs and struggle for fulfillment weave their way through the driving and sometimes syncopated beats that make up the rich sound. On drums Call drives the beat alternating between dancing around the volcano and straight rhythms to under pin the fabric of the music. Over the beat, Beard plays a rigged guitar that churns out both dark and distorted bass and bright chimey guitar.
