• About

Gulfside is an indie rock project based in Clearwater, Florida. Insprired by the sea, the salt and the sand, our music explores the ups and downs of everyday life over a variety of sounds inspired by classic and modern indie rock and roll. Filtered through the lense of a former emo kid, this unique brand of indie dad rock was initially motivated by a dead end night shift job, the discovery of Garageband, and a desire to keep creating in the simplest way possible. Mostly, I just missed being in a band and this project is a great way to pull some of that back together. Everything is recorded at home and written, mixed, and mastered by the musicians involved. The DIY indie scene of the 1980s and early 90s serves as a model for the spirit of this project. “We jam econo” in the words of the Minutemen. No auto-tune here. The voice is the voice, the guitars are sometimes cheap, and the limitations and influences are up front for everyone to hear. Enjoy the tunes! If you’re a kid, your parents probably won’t hate it. If you’re a parent, it may make you feel like a kid again.
