Annia Baron – Hobart-based soulful, blues-infused piano songstress – has been delighting Tasmanian audiences at the likes of MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), The Apple Shed in Huonville, the Nant Whisky Bar in Salamanca, and the 2016 Festival of Voices, and her reputation as a polished music artist is rising. With her honeyed vocals, it’s not all sugar sweet; this girl has some serious pipes, delivering with a raw bittersweet, guttural expression.
Annia’s EP “Coastal Ray” was recorded and produced at the Green Room studio in Hobart. Her song, Freedom In Me was announced as a 2016 Finalist in the international and prestigious American Songwriting Awards.
This community-minded musical artist (and full-time psychologist) established Acts of Musikindology – an initiative that sees herself (and encourages other artists and professionals) to contribute 10% of her performance payments directly back into local not-for-profit organisations.
