88 Shoals is a Rock, Soul and Pop band from Sao Paulo, Brazil created by British Singer-Songwriter Gary OC (Lead Singer) and the Brazilian Rock Legend and Composer Kiko Zambianchi (Lead Guitar) in 2019. The other fixed members of 88 Shoals are Brazilian musicians Ney Haddad (Bass) and Eduardo Escalier (Drums). Their Music has guest participations from many well know Brazilian artists and musicians spanning across various different genres such as Bossa Nova, Jazz, Heavy Metal and Reggae. 88 Shoals is also produced and mixed by legendary LA producer David Kershenbaum, a Multi-Grammy award winner and Oscar nominee, who has more than 75 Gold and Platinum records to his name working with artists including Cat Stevens, Supertramp, Duran Duran, Peter Frampton, Tracy Chapman, Bryan Adams and many more. The Bands mix of cultures and ages brings a totally unique and timeless feel to their music. The band's smooth vocals and thought-provoking lyrics have been Likened too many top artists such as Bryan Adams, Robbie Williams, Neil Young, Simply Red and Van Morrison. The name “88 Shoals” was created as a homage to the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Many of the hits produced at this studio have hugely influenced the band members through the years. The “88” part of the name comes from the “88” shape of the wall acoustics used in the original studio all those years ago. "88" is coincidentally also the birth year of lead singer Gary OC.
